I Did It!

I officially joined weight watchers...again! :-) I joined last night after finding out that I could still do the plan while breastfeeding. It's nice that they take us momma's into account! So, today is day one. Wish me luck! I did sneak a chocolate covered pretzel this morning...oops! I had a moment and completely forgot that I am now on weight watchers and those little snacks count against me! Ah well...it was the last one so hopefully no more temptation for today!

I am on my way to following up with two of my resolutions for 2011. Number one was to lose the baby weight. Joining weight watchers was the first step and once the weather warms up a little bit, I'll be able to get outside more with Emma to walk around the neighborhood each day. I'm thinking about having a goal to walk a 5k with Miss Emma (in our new jogging stroller of course!) later this year, maybe in the Fall when it's not too hot outside. I'll admit I'm not a fan of the sizzling summers we have here in Charlotte! In order to help with my new weight watchers plan, I found a website called Skinny Taste. It's fabulous! It has tons of recipes with the new PointsPlus values so I won't have to figure them out myself. Even if you're not doing weight watchers, it has great healthy recipes! They even have a "Lighter" Buffalo Chicken Dip...one of my faves and it's a crockpot recipe! Oh man, my mouth is watering right now...

Another resolution was to cook more for my family. I re-discovered the crockpot on Monday. Ryan and I made a pot roast with carrots and potatoes and it sure was yummy! Since Monday, I"ve been crazily looking up crockpot recipes online. There are some great crockpot recipe blogs that I'm hoping to get some new recipes from! Having a baby and staying home is so much harder than I ever anticipated, though it's wonderful too...really, really wonderful! Emma keeps me busy pretty much all day. I'm learning to get little things done around the house while she naps so I'm feeling a little better about our home's cleanliness. With little free time throughout the day, I figured the crockpot would be the easiest way to have some quality meals and quality time at the dinner table with the hubby each night. I'm hoping to get started with the crockpot by Monday. We'll see how it goes!

On a side note, Huntersville has about 6 inches of snow on the ground and ice on top of that! We had a big storm (according to southern standards!) on Monday and now I'm stuck inside with a 7 week old baby. I can't even get out to wheel her around in a store! Strollers don't fare too well in icy parking lots. I'm going a little stir crazy! Ryan's here working from home but still....a girl needs to get out once in a while, even if my trips now consist of diaper runs. Oh, the joys of motherhood... :-) Have a happy Wednesday!
