Happy One Month Emma!

I'm a little late on this post, seeing as Emma is now 6 weeks old and we just had her one month check up on Wednesday. Either way, my little baby is one month old! I cannot believe how fast the first four weeks went by! This little girl is going to be 18 before I know. Though I'm excited to see her grow each day, it makes me sad to think she'll never be this small again. Here are a few facts about Emma's first month!

  • You weighed 9 lbs. 12 oz (as of Dec. 23) and 10 lbs 9 oz at 6 weeks! You are one growing girl!
  • I’m guessing you are about 21 inches long but we’ll find out for sure on Jan. 5 at the dr. At 6 weeks, you were 21 1/2 inches!
  • You have started cooing and “talking” to a few of your toys, mostly on your play mat and on your changing table. It's the CUTEST thing!
  • You’re finally sleeping between 4 and 5 hours each night but only if Daddy swaddles you first.
  • We are down to one night feeding, normally around 4:30 am.
  • You let me shower and get ready each day! You love to sit in your bouncer and watch while I’m getting ready.
  • Your eyelashes are growing like crazy. I love staring at them.
  • You attended your first church service on Christmas eve and slept the whole time.
  • Your eyes are dark blue and extra beautiful when the light hits them just the right way.
  • Your hair is light brown but has a reddish tint to it.
  • It snowed on your first Christmas! The first time in Charlotte since 1947!
  • Your newborn clothes are getting quite snug but 0-3 are still quite big!
  • You are still wearing newborn diapers but we are moving you into size one this week! Our fave diapers are Huggies brand. Pampers gave you a nasty rash in the hospital though we may try them again in the future.
  • You hated bath time at first but are finally starting to enjoy it…as long as your daddy holds you while mommy cleans you up.
  • You have the most perfectly shaped lips.
  • You are quite the screamer when you want something. I’m hoping you become a little less demanding as you get older!
  • You love to look at the fan and lights.
  • One of my favorite times with you is when you rest your head and hands on my shoulder after I nurse you.

A few of my favorites from Christmas!
