On July 25-26th, Ryan and I spent our first night away together since before Emma was born. It's amazing how fast time flies by these days! My parents graciously kept our little girl overnight (Emma's first sleepover!) so Ryan and I could spend some much-needed quality time together. Date nights are rare for us. We don't live near any family and though we have friends who can babysit if we need them, we usually just take Emma with us wherever we go.
We decided to drive 2.5 hours south to Rehoboth, Delaware. We only had a couple of things planned so we spent a lot of time shopping at the outlets (LOVE tax-free Delaware!!). It was so nice to shop without a toddler screaming to get out of her stroller and then running away when I let her out. Ryan and I hardly ever get a chance to shop for ourselves and we both definitely enjoyed it. :-) It was really, really nice! On Wednesday, we had a late lunch at Dogfish Head Brew Pub. The food was delicious! I highly recommend the Blood Orange Cosmo. Soooo good. :-) We took a nice, long nap at the hotel after lunch and then headed to walk the boardwalk. We weren't feeling the boardwalk too much so we headed onto the beach and walked along the waves for a while and watched the sunset. It was beautiful! The next day we grabbed breakfast at the hotel and then headed over to our scheduled tour at Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, DE. We had a great time and learned a lot! I think Ryan is now even more eager to start brewing his own beer.
It was so nice to spend some quality time together but we were ready to get back to our little girl!
