On or around July 7th, Emma decided that she wanted to start throwing, what I assumed to be, little tantrums whenever I took her somewhere. The first time it happened was in Target. She was super irritable and didn't last more than 5 minutes in the store before the meltdown began. Nothing could appease her...not her pacifier or her favorite toy. This happened a few more times over the weekend. Ryan and I were off looking at furniture on Saturday and Emma had another meltdown while we were out. She started screaming in Havertys so our trip had to be cut short. She had had a few low-grade fevers here and there recently so I thought teething was a possibility but her gums didn't appear swollen at all. Saturday night, we had some friends over for dinner and she was miserable. :-( I thought maybe she was starting to go through seperation anxiety. Monday came and she was still cranky and super clingy. She only wanted her mommy. As much as I love it when she's a little cuddlebug with me, it makes it hard to get things done during the day and I was exhausted by the time Ryan got home. Finally, on Wednesday I spotted it! A teeny, tiny little tooth was starting to pop through! It was her bottom right tooth and really sharp! Once that little guy cut, she was back to her happy self on Thursday! I feel terrible that she was in such pain. Seeing your child hurt causes such a pain in your heart. I wish I could take her pain away.
And as of two days ago, I spotted her second tooth getting ready to cut through! Her bottom left tooth is almost to the surface. She hasn't been quite as cranky. She's a professional now. ;-) As happy as I am that Emma is growing and changing, it's all happening a little too fast! She just recently mastered rolling consistently from her back to her belly, and is now rolling across the carpet. She's been trying to pull herself up. I can tell she wants to crawl and she's getting closer everyday. She's eating two solid meals a day now. She sits in the cart when we shop and in the highchair when we eat out. She gets a bath in the BIG tub, and now, she's got two teeth! I'm just not sure I'm ready for all of this! Emma, I love you dearly but slow down just a tad. ;-)
